A
few weeks ago I found an article, told that Bali becomes the top five of the
biggest HIV/AIDS case in Indonesia. More over a few time ago I heard a nurse
from Bangli hospital told that there is one of younger in my village is
infected HIV. This fact is surprising me and makes me asking my self “what
happen with our young generation nowadays; moreover, what we, as young
generation, can do to against this deadly virus?
So
on this great occasion, I would like to deliver a speech entitled “The Role of
Young Generation against HIV/AIDS”
Ladies
and Gentlemen
The
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and its resulting sickness, the Acquired
Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), are not new to the world. They have been
scourges of humanity since their first emergence in 1981. In Indonesian especially
found for the first time in 1987 in our beloved island, Bali. Thing that make
this virus is very dangerous is because its easy transmission. According to
data from Indonesian Health organization, In Indonesia since 1987-2011 there
are 78.879 cases of HIV and 28.879 cases of AIDS; 5.430 of them had died.
The
transmission of this virus caused by some factors, such as heterosexual, drug
abuse, blood transfusion, and breast milk. Depending on data from Indonesian
health organization, 55% case is caused by heterosexual or free sex.
Furthermore, in Indonesia this deadly virus is mostly suffered by man because
data tells that in Indonesia, 70.8% victims are men.
Ladies
and Gentlemen
Now,
the most importance thing is what we, as young generation, can do to prevent
and against HIV/AIDS, so that this disease can be no longer attack our life.
Because the transmission of this virus mostly caused by bad sex habits so the
best result is just avoid free sex. However, for people who feel that being
faithful with one sexual partner is too old fashion, please protect your self
with contraceptives, in this case condom is the best solution. Moreover, do not
use string for second time, stay away from drugs, and if you feel that u are at
risk; just check yourself to the doctor or related organization in other that
you won’t transmit your virus to another people. In addition, doing positive
activity and getting closer to God, because with the strong belief, we will be
difficult to be affected by negative things. The last but not least, never
exclude who is infected this virus, so they want to consider that they get
HIV/AIDS and the government can be easily to list. Thus the spread of this
virus can be dropped.
My
honor lecturer and my beloved friends
Discovering
that how serious this disease is, let we protect ourselves and our community
with doing healthy life, avoiding bad sex habit and doing positive things so we
will stay safely from HIV/AIDS. Don’t let a short pleasure make us regret for
all of the time.
That’s
all of my short speech. Hopefully it will be meaningful and can inspire you all
and please forgive me if I have done mistakes during my speech. Thank for your
kind attention.
